Abstract
"The Kenting coastal forest is a representative tropical coastal forest in Taiwan, but the majority coastal region had already be destroyed because of long-term human disturbance and alien species invasion. There is only small area (20-30 ha) of semi-natural coastal forest could be found around the Banana Bay Natural Protection Area. Therefore, restoration is necessary for conserving the tropical coastal forest of Taiwan.
This research will investigate the tree species and soil seed bank composition of the Kenting secondary coast forest, and collect the dispersal modes of dominant coastal forest tree species for assess the potential of regeneration by natural materials.
This year we will complete the dispersal mode analysis of the dominant tree species in coastal forest, which including fruit and seed morphology, weight and other features."
