執行成果摘要
Taiwan is an important economic and trade partner in East Asia, Southeast Asia and the Pacific Rim countries. More than 98% of Taiwan's timber is imported. The trade of legal timber is a concern of all countries in the world, and it is also a subject of cooperation between trading partners. The identification of precious wood in my country can be used as the basis for countries in the world to identify wood in my country. The goal of this project is to develop a genetic database of precious wood in Taiwan. Based on the sequences of database obtained from this project, polymorphic molecular markers were developed for the species identification in Chamaecyparis and Calocedrus. We plan to obtain more than 450 samples of wood or plant tissue at domestic and abroad, and establish gene databases that may be misidentified with Taiwan precious wood. This project also plans to establish an exchange network of wood identification researchers in East and Southeast Asian countries. Be prepared to join the CPTPP partnership and let Taiwan be ahead of international progress in international timber trade, especially in the application of timber DNA identification technology.
