Abstract
This study focused on the monitoring and evaluation practices of ecological effectivess and service function of 4 plantations which had been manipulated under the concept of multi-silvicultural system at Taimali Research Center, TFRI, eastern part of Taiwan. 4 major works including regulation and actually setting of biodiversity and soil-water resource conservation effectiveness monitoring plots on under-managed plantation of Taiwan fir plantation, setting of growth investigation plots on inter-planting plantation of Cinammon micranthan,on-spot survey and plots setting on practices evalutation of semi-natural plantation and repeated monitoring of borad-leaved trees mixed stand established by ecological silvicultural pracitces.
2~3 reseach papers will be published in the progrossing of this study to explain the developing history and improving process of multi-silvicultural system, and the current progressing results, and helpful to forestry companies, experimental forest, and national forest under the bureau of forestry. Meanwhile, 1~2 explanation semina on 2 hot spots of this study including the establishment of effecitiveness evaluation criteria and indicators, and the creation of cinammon industry will opened to companies related to this issue, and anticipate to develop a mutual cooperational relationship between TFRI and companies. By the way, a training program including instrument opperation and conceptual model explanation focused on forest investigation and the monitoring on soil-water resource conservation and wildlife population dynamics will developed for forestry colleague to transfer the practical experience of multi-silvicultual practices.
