Abstract
With the rapid development of national economy, people’s standard of living is gradually uplifted, and level of valuing environmental greening is promoted as well. This study aims at understanding the influence of soil compaction on the partial land, which is trampled owing to people’s activities in the urban forest area botanical garden. Physical and chemical properties of soil compaction are discussed to show how much of degrees of influences they are on urban forest’s growth form, health status, and structure. A simultaneous analysis of the adverse effects of soil compaction on urban forest is done to investigate, whether due to the recession of the urban forest’s growth and health, which leads to its structural weakness, urban forest not only shortens its life expectancy and increases its chances of forest lodging collapse, but also increases the risk of people’s life safety when engaging in activities in the park. The results will be used for soil compaction to improve urban forest management and make mitigation strategies.
