Abstract
Environmental issues like air pollution, water quality and food are getting worse. At the same time, social issues like ageing problems and economic stress among younger generations expand all over the world. The world is looking for the solutions to these problems. From our perspective, the forest and horticultural therapy may help mitigate the negative effects. Forest environments can provide the leisure enjoyment and improve physical and psychological health and so do horticultural activities. Through developing the ecological industry of forest and horticultural therapy, the two activities are integrated. This concept will be implemented along with the research on the development of the green industry of the forest and horticultural therapy. The therapeutic effect of the integration will be analyzed by using some physical and the psychosocial measures. Furthermore, the place of forest environments will be examined by using the ecological service assessment system. It is expected that this ecological industry will reduce urban residents’ stress and serve as the indicator of a healthy city.
