Abstract
Fourteen clones of Cinnamomum osmophloeum with 6 chemical compositions were collected and planted at Lienhwachih Research Center. Comparative characters among chemotypes were determined, including budding time, leaves with/without pubescent beneath, leaf size (length, width, tip, base, and petiole), flower spike (terminal, axillary, cymes, panicle, stalk length), and essential oils. The draft of guidelines for the conduct of tests for distinctness, uniformity and stability of this species was completed. The characters of Taiwan Yew No. 3 were investigated according to the guidelines of Taiwan Yew varieties announced by Council of Agriculture. After comparing with Taiwan Yew No.1 and No.2, NO.3 had 14 and 23 characters differed, respectively. The description of varieties and character investigation report of Taiwan Yew No.3 was completed. Guideline for plant varieties of Paulownia genus was draw up according to the characters of P. kawakamii, P. x taiwaniana, and P. fortunei introduced from Guizhou, China. These charactes investigated including sizes of flower buds and blooming flowers, colors of corolla, weight of seeds, and the ability of anti-witches’ bloom disease. There have some characters of hybrid seedlings will be investigated for effectively identify different hybrids.
