Abstract
The seed orchard composed of superior phenotypic trees of Acacia confusa grafted seedlings, which established at Liukuei Research Center in July 2012, bloomed on early June this year. There had 79 trees of 34 clones flowered, however, only few seeds were collected for typhoon attacked during the fruiting period. The 6-years-old plantation established at Taitung in February 2010 was investigated in November this year. Trees grown under the canopy of coconut trees was greater averaged height 771±188 cm, while those grown in open field was greater DBH 11.6±2.87 cm. The 3 years-old plantation established at Dahu field, Hualien on December 2012 was investigated on November this year. Tees derived from I2 family of Ilan provenance grew the best in the trial of progeny and provenance test. In the planting density trial, trees with the density of 1.5 x 2 m grew in volume better than that of 1.5 x 1.5 m and 2 x 2 m. The progeny and provenance plantation of Trema orientalis was established in late December 2014. Average survival rate was 55% for dry weather during the growing period from June to September. The LH progeny with greatest height growth was 78.8 cm high. The Alnus Formosana plantation with different planting density was established at the same field of Haualien on 1 October 2013. Averaged tree height was 517.1±335.2 cm,and DBH was 2.3±4.7 cm after one year planting.
