Based on the standard operation procedure by the International FSC Organization to set up a regional or national criteria and indicator for forest certification system, the SDG has taken place meetings discussing and drawing up a draft of criteria and indicators for forest management to match the current forest status in Taiwan, which consists of 10 principles, 56 criteria and 197 indicators. The draft has been announced for 2 months for first consultation at the beginning of October. There are 4 researchers of the TFRI who were trained by the third certification body for the ISO 9001:2008 quality standard courses, which are basic training for implement consulting and auditing of forest management certification works. There are a total of 22 procedure documents for the Lienhuachi Research Center, the Taiwan Forest Research Institute, were drafted based on the standard of procedures of the ISO standards. In addition, the applicable laws and regulations on labor rights of Taiwan to the Forest Management (FM) of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) were investigated and compared. The preliminary results show that a total of 39 domestic laws and regulations what are match to the FSC standards with regard to labor rights and employment conditions.
