執行成果摘要
The research objectives include (1) collecting and organizing the data of imported and exported timber, wood products and building a credible national database, so as to (2) analyze wood consumption flow based  on primary and secondary data, as well as  (3) investigating  the carbon storage and carbon footprint of timber and wood product. As the year 2014 is the second year of this project,  the  research includes collecting and organizing  the data of (1) pulp, paper, chipboard and secondary processed  products, (2) along with compiling  the commodity classification documents of carbon footprint of wood products . Of total value of imports, the largest share of import value was for paper and paperboard with an average  NT$ 32,839 million annually. We mainly imported from  Vietnam, China and Indonesia. Secondary processed paper products and wood pulp came in second with an average  annual import value of NT$ 20,415 and NT$18,996 million respectively. On the other hand, secondary paper products accounted for the largest share  with export earnings worth  an annual average  NT$ 26,148 . The major export destinations  were Hong Kong, China and the US. Paper, paperboard and secondary processed wood products followed with an annual average export value of NT$ 20,910 and NT$ 8,909 million respectively. Overall, all kinds of wood products, except secondary processed paper products, had higher import value than export value. With regard to quantity of imports and exports , there was a surplus in other fiber pulp, paper and paperboard, but the rest had trade deficits.
