執行成果摘要
一、A clonal seed orchard occupied o.5 ha where composed with 180 plus trees of Acacia confusa was established at Forest Zone #2, Liukuei Research Center, 750 m in elevation on July 2012. There had 14 clones flowered in May and September first, and then another 8 clones did. Clonal plants derived from Taimali provenance grew the best.
二、The Shinhwa plantation established on 30 May 2011 where plants raised from Kentin Sheding Park, Chiayi, and Taichung provenances. The plants were classified 3 ranks: elect stem, 3 forks stem, and no shoot tip. The greatest growth came from plants with 3 forks grew the best as the same results as previous year, still, elect plants did not show better growth as expected.
三、The Taitung plantation established at Taitung in January 2010 , which Acacia planted in 3 trials, ranking with and surrounded about Cinnamomum kanehirae, and under the canopy of coca nut trees. Plants grew under coca nut trees were tallest (717 cm in height), while those in the ranking plantation had the greatest DBH (9.91 cm in average).
四、The Hualien plantation was established on late December 2012. At 1.9 years old of provenance progeny trial, families of #6 and #7 derived Taimali provenance, and #2 from Ilan provenance showed the greatest height. Families of #6 had the greatest DBH. At the trial with different planting densities, tree in high planting density grew better, however, no significant differences showed among 3 densities. At the trial of direct seeding, The average tree height exceeded near or more than 2 m in 4 plots, trees at the 4th plot reach 2.37 m.
