執行成果摘要
The experimental plots were located at a 21-year-old eucalyptus plantation in Hsinhua, Tainan City in land belonging to Taiwan Sugar Co. The original stand was harvested in Dec. 2010 and the site was monitored with plots of 20×25m. A total of 9 plots were established. In survey of Nov. 2012, after 24 moth of harvest, the control plot retained 547 root stocks/ha and the total suckers reduced from 10980 to 1867 shoots with an average shoots of 3.4±2.4 per stock. Single root stock maximum suckers reduced from 44 to 9 shoots. Weaker shoots were removed manually from treatment plots, the total shoots reduced to 1117 with an average of 1.9±1.1 shoots per rootstock. The maximum number of shoots for a single rootstock was 4. The 2-year-old sucker regeneration attained an average breast-height diameter of 6.7±2,0cm, average height of 6.8±1.5m, indicating that eucalyptus regeneration through suckers was rapidgrowing. In order to increase the growth ratio the test of fertilization is needed, the last 2 years are major in fertilization test.
