Phenological investigation of 3 tree ferns where in Homeishan showed that sprouting of fertile fronds, releasing spore occured in March and July, respectively. Immature spores ofter clupmed together, however, mature ones seperate independly. In addition, immature spores could not germinate or have low germination frequency, with smaller size and paler color. Spores collected fronds which 14-16 wks old had the optimal germination frequency. Those spores have largest size and with dark brown color. It is most suitable period for collecting tree ferns.
