Abstract
Seeds of Styrax formosana and Styrax matsumuraei have physiological dormancy. Fresh seeds germinate poorly. Seeds treated with GA3 or GA4 promoted germination and germination percentage increased to 60%. Seeds of Tsuga formosana exhibited orthodox storage behavior. However, seeds of Castanopsis carlesii exhibited recalcitrant storage behavior. Genetic variation and phylogeny of the coastal plant, Barringtonia species by ISSR showed a lower genetic variation, suggesting that ex situ conservation for this species is required. We found 19 functional genes from the native plants of Lycopodium. Determining genetic variation and phylogeny of Quercus pachyloma, Fagaceae, preliminarily showed some variation among populations.
