Abstract
Base on IUCN's criteria on rare and endanger species, we selected 32 orchid species for this study. Database incluing 433 collections of 32 species were built, and 52 environmental factor of 1-km grid resolution of Taiwan were calculated and constructed. 26 independent factors were then used for building species distribution models of 24 species with more than 5 occurrence records by modeling tool MAXENT. The 24 species distributions were then overlaid to obtain rare orchids hot spot map and compare with current conservation area. Based on results of this research, possible conservation suggestions on orchid species in Taiwan were proposed.
