Abstract
We monitor the tree species phenology, growth rate and the forest turnover rate in three forest dynamic plots and Botanic Gardens. Previous to this year's tree phenology data of Fushan and Hengchun Botanical Garden had been completely, and has established a database interface for ongoing investigation. Fushan has completed 20 investigations, collected a total of 26,053 records, and we also preliminary analysis the phenology data of the past 13 years. Hengchun has completed 14 investigations, a total of 1,400 records. We had completed the dendrometer-bands setting and 2-times measuring of the three forest dynamic plots in Fushan, Lianhuachih and Kenting. Totally, we monitor 199 species, 6355 trees. Forest turnover rate has been completed by 1998 and 2002 aerial-photo in Lianhuachih forest dynamics plot, and the gap formation rate (0.52% year-1) can be used to estimate the forest turnover rate is about 190.8 years.
