Abstract
In this year, we conducted 14 times field investigations and found 8 Cypripedium populations. Individuals of Cypripedium segawai were artificial pollinated, and the pollens were collected and dried. Between August and October, we went to fields to collected fruits and plant tissues. Moreover, we collected 34 relevant references, and built a database of 26 localities of 4 Cypripedium species in Taiwan. For the experiment of seed germination and storage, seeds of two populations of Cypripedium debile were found with high rate of empty seeds. Using treatment of 4℃ stratification, H2O2 and GA3, there were no germinating seeds so far. The pretest of asymbiotic seed germination in 2008 indicated that culture medium 1/10MS had the best performance. Moreover, seed maturity was correlated with germination rates. Seeds of three species have been germinated asymbioticly for 2 to 3 months, and expanding embryos were observed.
