Abstract
一、Seeds of Symplocos sasakii do not have dormancy and the seeds that were incubated at 25/15 and 30/20℃ germinated to > 90%. Seeds of Symplocos paniculata have dormancy and could germinate to 80% after 18 weeks incubation at 25℃. GA3 could promote the Symplocos seeds germination. Seeds of Cephalotaxus wilsoniana have morphophysiological dormancy and the fresh seeds only could germinate at 15/6℃. Warm followed by cold stratification promoted the Cephalotaxus seed germination and the germination percentage could reach 92%. Seeds of Ilex rotunda collected from Yanmingshan and Hengchun habitats showed different dormancy. Seeds from Yanmingshan habitat initiated the seed germination in week 31 and the 62% germination was obtained after 39 weeks incubation. However, seeds from Hengchun exhibited less dormancy and began to germinate in week 11 and the germination was 80% after 30 weeks incubation. Seeds of Tsuga chinensis var. formosana exhibited orthodox storage behaviour, whereas the seeds of Castanopsis carlesii exhibited recalcitrant storage behaviour.
二、The plants of L. multispicatum and L. serrata have introns. The research also found that the divergence of type I and II sHSP genes occurred in 563 millions years ago, and the type I and II sHSP genes in L. fordii appeared in 48 and 2 millions years ago.
三、Thirty clones of Calocefrus formosana were established in 3 years ago for progeny test. The clones exhibited no statistical significantly difference among them after two years growth. The highest mean height was clone 8 and the height was 169.4 ± 7.4 cm, and the smallest mean height was clone 22 and the height was 139.2 ± 16.3%. The 27 clones (no. 8, 16 and 26 was not investigated) exhibited no statistical significantly difference among them after two years growth. The highest mean height was clone 17 and the height was 3.6 ± 0.6 m and DBH was 4.8 ± 1.4 cm, and the smallest mean height was clone 23 and the height was 2.6 ± 0.4 m and DBH was 2.5 ± 1.0 cm.
四、Pemphis acidula is distributed in Hengchnn peninsula, Little-Liouciou, Lanyu and Green-island, with special ecological status somewhat between a strand plant and a mangrove. The genetic variation and population structure of 150 individuals sampled from 15 population of P. acidula in main island of Taiwan and in nearby islands were studied using ISSR markers. Result indicated that there was a significant genetic differentiation existed among regions and among population within regions. However, the major variation existed among individuals within populations. UPGMA cluster analysis showed that they were divided into three groups; Lanyu group, Hengchnn peninsula and Green island as a group, and the group of Little-Lioncion. In addition, a significant correlation was found between genetic distance and geographic distance ( r = 0.56, p = 0.02*). It revealed that populations of P. acidula agreed to the concept of isolation by distance model, which might be evolved from the result of natural dispersion. In conclusion, the gene flow among populations was relatively restricted. Geographic segmentation may be a significant factor to the genetic differentiation among these populations. Based on the above findings, we suggest that in situ conservation should be conducted to enlarge the population size.
