Abstract
In the industrialization platform, to produce a good quality of products is the critical techniques. There many valuable forestry products in Taiwan, such as taxol from Taxus plants, camptothecin from Nothapodytes nimmoniana and Camptotheca acuminata, cinnamon from Cinanmoum osmphloeum, etc. These products are made from branches under harvesting, drying and grinding as a small even particle size with low water content less than 10% befor being extracted into target components. The cost and quality of particle products are very important in the process. In this project we will design to use solar energy to convert heat and electricity to dry and grind branches. This system will reduce much cost and produce competitive product in the world market. It estimated that 60 kg fresh branch weight a day using oven dryer could increased up 120 kg a day when solar energy added.  This year we harvested 1000 kg branches of Cinnamoumum osmophloeum. The yield of essential oil using electricity heat in lab distiller was similar to that of distillery which using floodwood as fuel. The cost in lab was 315 NT dollars per kg, while the distillery took only 32 dollars.
