執行成果摘要
The purpose of the study is to select the suitable coastal plants. Based on the results of early investigating and recent researches, we evaluate several species in various regions on adaptation and regeneration capabilities. Afterwards, we would compile a technical manual their about suitable tree species which grow on salty coastal wetlands. The initial results of investigation and evaluation are as follows: The tree species of Melaleuca leucadendra, Broussonetia papyrifera, Cerbera manghas and Pongamia pinnata in Taichung Harbor coastal windbreaks have better abilities in growth and natural regeneration. Similarly in Guanyin Coastal Industrial Park, the better adaptation and regeneration exist in Cerbera manghas, Pongamia pinnata, Celtis sinensis and Pittosporum tobira. As for coastal wetlands, we suggest it’s more appropriate to choose Avicennia marina and Lumnitzera racemosa. The result of flooding and salt tolerance test showed that for farmland reforestation terr species, Cerbera manghas seedlings had the highest survival rate.
