Abstract
10-Deacetylbaccatin III (10-DAB) is a precursor to synthesized docetaxel, an anticancer drug which has 3.5 billion US dallarsin the world market. The great content of 10-DAB in branches of Taxus sumatrana clones has been test in the field. There are 3 clones has potential to mass cultivate to produce 10-DAB. The 10-DAB content in these 3 clones were stable after been determined every months for past 3 years. We named them as Taiwan Yew #1~3. To decrease the risk of drought and typhoon, agroforestry system was used as replaced with crop farm like as tea crop. This year we will continue to estimate the productivity of agroforestry farms where established in west Taiwan. Also we will try to license these clones to Biotech Company. We will design the commercial prosess including mass vegetative propagation, farm management, branch harvest, and quality controll of mass branch powdering and drying.
