Abstract
Chamaecyparis formosensis and Chamaecyparis obtusa var. formosana are both the five precious coniferous tree in Taiwan. It has not only high quality of wood but also excellent durability. In this study, three different extract methods: water distillation, steam distillation and supercritical fluid extraction, would be using to extract the leaf essential oils from C. formosensis and C. obtusa var. formosana. Solid-phase micro-extraction (SPME) fibers coupled with gas chromatography/mass spectrometry, will used to monitor and identify the volatile organic compounds. Furthermore, plating method and headspace method will also used to evaluate the anti-fungi activity of essential oils from leaf. We expected to develop a technique that could really represent the bioactivities of volatile essential oils.
