Abstract
The technique of Google Street View/ panoramic/ 3D technology has been verified as a readily accessible and time-saving resource for observing the urban landscape, and we attempted to use it as a research tool. Despite the literature reveal that contacting to green infrastructures regulating emotion and reducing stress, how is the urban nature affect to residents still need further experiments.The objective of this study is to evaluate the influence including health benefit of the urban environment on city dwellers by using Google street views/panoramic/ 3D technology, and try to establish a model to predict the well-being of the city we live in.Examinations of how people react to urban environments will made by randomly given images from Google Street View/panoramic/3D image of City. Online survey questionnaires with photographs of landscape will distributed to investigate emotion, preference, psycho-physiological aspects of respondents to diverse environments in the city. Key visual cues of the images, colors, brightness, landscape element and openness, will analyzed to model the health benefit regression.Using Google Street View as an efficient and effective tool to audit health benefit of urban environment can not only assist the governors in managing, planning and designing city, but might also provide residents with alternative consideration to select better or even healthier routes which commuting to work every day.
