Abstract
Acacia confusa, the largest planted broadleaf tree species in Taiwan, is native to Hengchun Peninsula of southern Taiwan as well as northern Philippines.  In 1968, the researchers selected trees with good phenotype and propagated them using seedling, but they didn't achieve the goal of selective breeding program. From 2014-2016, selective breeding project had been supported by Forestry Bureau. The researchers selected 186 mother trees with superior phenotype and propagated them using grafting.  At last, we will try to determine whether these methods are suitable for the esatblishment of A. confusa breeding using stored pollen.  To sum up, the aim of this project is to increase biomass production through breeding in A. confusa.
