Insect Collection of Taiwan Forestry Research Institute (TFRI) is one of the most important insect collections in Taiwan. Up to the end of April 2014, the collection holds more than 570,000 specimens, including 265 type specimens. Collecting events, taxonomic status and registration number of 170,659 pinned specimens has been databased and users can easily access relevant information through internet. We joined the National Digital Archiving Project in March 2005 and finished 85,000 high resolution digital images and their metadata by March 2014. All these images can be accessed at TFRI (https://fact.tfri.gov.tw), Global Biodiversity Information Facility (https://www.gbif.org/), Taiwan Biodiversity Information Facility (https://portal.taibif.tw/) as well as Union Catalogs of Digital Archives, Taiwan (https://culture.teldap.tw/culture/).
