Abstract
Forests are considered as renewable resources. It will achieve the effect of sustainable development of resources with reasonable planning and management. Through a series of this studies, the project will strengthen the strategy of sustainable management for forest resources. The research includes the impact of the environment and forest growth by thinning and management for plantations and bamboo forests. Moreover, the strategy of improving the harvesting model of plantation and bamboo forests is proposed by the economic benefit assessment and the planning of the long-term timber production strategy. In addition, the project will analyze the fire risk trend and the risk hotspot area through the statistical analysis. Finally, through collecting, digitizing, and analyzing published literature, this study aims to identify the current knowledge gap of forest management in Taiwan, and to effectively utilize the outcomes of previous researches on forest science in Taiwan.
