Abstract
The project is dedicated to doing a research of breeding program of Taiwania cryptomerioides Hay. At first, we will select plus trees from the results of half-sib progeny tests in forestry as well as propagate them using grafting and air-layering. Then, 2 hectares seed orchard and clonal orchard of Taiwania cryptomerioides Hay. will be established. Morever, pollen collection and storage as well as supplemental mass pollination of Taiwania cryptomerioides. Besides, a supply of good seed is very important in the development of forest plantations; thus, we expect to replant about 20 hectares every year. To sum up, the aim of this research is to increase biomass production through breeding in Taiwania cryptomerioides.
