Abstract
Forests have many functions and ecosystem services. In recent years, the environment has been threatened by global warming and climate change. Sustainable forest management, forest protection and degraded land management is becoming more and more important. Through a series of studies, the project will complete the analysis of the management models for coastal forest, wetlands and degraded plantations. Moreover, the high-risk location of forest fires in the plain forests will be analyzed by satellite and spatial analysis. In addition, thinning is an important silviculture work in forest management. The study will evaluate the impact of different thinning strategies on forest growth and vegetation, and develops plantation and bamboo harvesting techniques that are consistent with forest certification principles. Finally, forestry researches in Taiwan have been developing for a long time. However, there was no integrated database. The study will integrate past research results to facilitate future researches.
